Field Trip to Plainview – March 5, 2011

Workshop: Soy Silk Fusion
Cost: $30.00 (for the kit)
Time: 10:30 a.m. (Ending about noon, depending on whether we stop for lunch or have lunch afterwards)

Location: To be confirmed, but probably Wayland Baptist University in Plainview

Incidental supplies to bring:
> butcher paper one roll will do a LOT
> newspaper
> drop cloths or old vinyl table cloths
> buckets/basins for water
> small paper cups
> spoons
> paper towels
> sponge (very optional0
> paint brush (very optional)
> sweater drying rack or cookie cooling rack
> rubber gloves
> Iron
> pencils, markers
> forms to embellish i.e. lamp shades, picture frames small boxes
> Embellishments:
> stencils
> paint brush and fabric paints
> glitter
> tiny beads
> Rubbermaid tub for taking home wet items

The fabric made from this technique can be used much as a heavy handmade paper,
or if dried on drying rack can be used to make clothing, purses, eyeglass cases
etc. You can also cover picture frames, trinket boxes, lamp shades, or
can be formed over shapes to make baskets or free form items.
