Once in a while you find something special related to fiber arts: a poem, a quote, a cartoon, etc.
Here is a little lagniappe for you.

Where do old phones go?
(Could you card and spin this??)

Thirty Six Skeins
by Dianne Cotton

Among threads more tightly braided
Are those now cut or frayed.
The pattern under scrutiny
Reveals mistakes I've made.

The framework of this weaving,
The structure, stays the same.
But my weaving loses rhythm,
Chaos tries to reign

Lenghts of muted colors
Destined to appear:
Change Gray, Brown Death,
Accidental Ochre, Black Fear.

The fibers of my being,
Unraveled, then rewound,
Redefining what I'm seeking,
Surprised by what I've found.

Throughout the sturdy fabric
Run threads of brighter hue:
Silver Hope, Copper Trust,
Golden Love, Friendship Blue

Printed with permission of the author.
